01Can I use my own hair tie? + −
Yes. Every billybun comes with two thick hair ties, but you can attach your own favourite hair tie if that works better for your hair — because the best hair tie is usually the one you've been loyal to for years.

03Is billybun only for scuba diving? + −
No. Billybun was designed with divers in mind, but it's made for adventure girls in general — diving, surfing, snorkelling, swimming, boat days, waterfalls, camping trips and spontaneous swims. It's also great worn as a ponytail under moped/motorcycle helmets, ski helmets, and when you're at the gym, on a hike, or out for a run.
04Will it completely stop my hair from knotting? + −
Billybun is designed to reduce knots, movement and post-ocean hair chaos, but everyone's hair is different. Our goal is to make your hair easier to manage after the ocean, not pretend saltwater magically stops being saltwater.
05Does it come with hair ties? + −
Yes. Each billybun comes with two thick hair ties included, but you can use those, or swap them out for your own too.
06What happens if the elastic wears out? + −
Saltwater, sun and everyday adventures naturally wear elastics down over time. That's why billybun was designed so the hair ties can be swapped out instead of throwing the whole product away. The elastic inside the bun cover is also replaceable, although it takes a little more care to do (reach out to us for this one!).
07How long will it last? + −
Billybun is designed to stay with you for as long as possible. This is our first version though, so we don't want to make huge claims before long-term testing is complete. We hope you won't need to replace the internal elastic within the first 12 months, but please let us know if it does.
08Can I put it in when I have wet hair? + −
Yes. Billybun is made for wet, salty, ocean hair and will still reduce knots. In fact, we actually recommend rinsing your hair with fresh water before going in the ocean anyway to further prevent hair damage.
09Can I use it in chlorine? + −
Yes, but rinse it after use. Chlorine can be harsh on fabric and elastic over time.
10How do I care for it? + −
Rinse with fresh water after ocean or pool use, gently squeeze out excess water and let it air dry. Avoid leaving it damp in a bag for days. Feel free to put it in for a cold wash cycle too, though we recommend placing it in a laundry bag first. Air dry is also best.
11Is it handmade? + −
Yes. Billybun is currently made in small batches while we test, improve and grow.
12When will my order ship? + −
